He studied dentistry at the Medical College of Virginia, where he completed his dental school requirements in three years while simultaneously working part-time in the hotel industry, completing an externship at a pediatric dentist's office, and volunteering at the Northern Virginia Dental Clinic in Falls Church.
Dr. Khan believes that it is absolutely vital to keep up with new and advanced dental technology in order to provide his patients with the best care possible. Accordingly, he prioritizes participation in continuing education.

He has been involved with the Mission of Mercy, American Dental Association's Give Kids a Smile, and Alexandria Health Department's Dental programs. Dr. Khan was born into a diplomatic family. One of five sons, he spent his youth in Zimbabwe, moving to the United States in the eleventh grade. After graduating with honors from TC Williams High School, he then studied biology at George Mason University and distinguished himself.
An avid Redskins fan, Dr. Khan works out four times a week and enjoys sports. He resides in Annandale, VA with his wife, Dana, and two beautiful children, Adam and Leila.
